  • The First Amendment, which guarantees freedoms of religion, speech, press, peaceful assembly, and petitioning the government for redress of grievances. It prohibits laws establishing religion or restricting its exercise.
  • The Fifth Amendment, which provides rights related to due process, protection against self-incrimination and double jeopardy, and just compensation when private property is taken for public use.

The objective to establish advocacy centers across the United States involves creating local and regional hubs that serve as focal points for civil rights, community justice, victim support, and public service advocacy.

These centers function as community anchors aiming to improve justice access, strengthen civil rights protections, and empower marginalized populations through education, advocacy, and coordinated intervention. Many existing models, such as child advocacy centers, offer effective frameworks that can be adapted for civil rights and community justice advocacy across diverse jurisdictions nationwide

HARVEST CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY Court Room

Courtroom Initiative

Harvest Christian University Royal School Courtroom Initiative

Harvest Christian University Royal School proudly hosts a multifunctional courtroom facility designed not only for advanced educational simulations but also to facilitate the adjudication of real legal cases with qualified court personnel. This unique judicial learning environment serves students across academic levels—high school, college, law school—and supports bar exam candidates by integrating theoretical study with practical courtroom experience and real judicial processes.

Students actively engage in courtroom roles including judges, attorneys, witnesses, and jurors, navigating realistic legal disputes guided by courts' procedural standards. This integration of landmark decisions with real and simulated cases empowers students with a comprehensive understanding of legal doctrines, evidentiary rules, courtroom decorum, and judicial decision-making essential for professional competence.

By blending rigorous academic study with participation in authentic court proceedings, the Harvest Christian University Royal School Courtroom Initiative bridges theoretical learning with operative justice practices, preparing students for successful legal careers and public service with firsthand experience in the judicial process.

The mock courtroom offers students a dynamic, hands-on environment where  they actively engage in legal procedures and courtroom roles. This  immersive experience enables students to apply theoretical legal  concepts in a realistic setting, deepening their understanding of case  law, trial processes, and judicial decision-making. By participating in  role-play as attorneys, witnesses, judges, and jurors, students gain  firsthand insight into the justice system that textbooks alone cannot  convey, fostering a practical comprehension of courtroom dynamics and  legal mechanisms used to resolve disputes.

Through preparation and presentation of cases before a mock judge and  jury, students strengthen essential skills such as persuasive oral  advocacy, critical analysis of evidence, strategic argument formulation,  and extemporaneous public speaking. The mock trial environment  challenges students to think on their feet, respond to opposing  arguments, and employ rules of evidence effectively. These experiences  build their confidence, enhance communication abilities, and cultivate  teamwork and leadership, equipping students for future roles in the  legal profession or other fields requiring rigorous analytical and  interpersonal skills.

Form Character, Ethics, and Calling

Form Character, Ethics, and Calling

The mock courtroom serves as a forum to integrate Christian ethical  principles with legal practice, promoting biblical values such as  integrity, fairness, and respect for justice. It nurtures students’  moral development and a sense of vocational calling to serve both the  church and society with honesty and compassion. By engaging in the  judicial process through a faith-informed lens, students prepare  spiritually and professionally to pursue careers or community leadership  roles that uphold the dignity of every individual and champion truth in  service to God's kingdom.
