SIKANA NATION TRIBAL AUTHORITY by Royal Decree Decree a SELF-GOVERNING CHARTER NOTICE of HARVEST CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

 By authority of the Sikana Nation, under the leadership of "Chief Jahkai Akoni Sikani", Harvest Christian University is hereby declared, chartered, and maintained as an Indigenous, faith-based, educational, cultural, ministerial, and institutional arm of the Sikana Nation.


Harvest Christian University operates under the Nation’s internal law, spiritual mandate, tribal trust charter, customs, governance, educational mission, and inherent right of Indigenous self-determination. The University’s authority within the Nation is not submitted for permission, approval, validation, or recognition by any outside state, agency, department, or political body.

SIKANA NATION TRIBAL AUTHORITY HARVEST CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

 Harvest Christian University is an Indigenous, tribally chartered, faith-based institution of higher education established and operating under the internal authority, governance, customs, laws, charter, and educational mandate of the Sikana Nation under the leadership of Chief Jahkai Akoni.


The University derives its authority from the Sikana Nation and its own governing instruments, and exercises its educational, religious, cultural, ecclesiastical, and institutional functions pursuant to the Nation’s inherent right of self-government and self-determination.

STATUS OF HARVEST CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

 

Harvest Christian University is:

  • An Indigenous Tribal Institution
  • A Tribally Chartered University
  • A Faith-Based and Ecclesiastical Institution
  • A Self-Governing Educational Institution
  • A Cultural and Religious Institution of the Sikana Nation
  • An Instrumentality of the Sikana Nation operating under Tribal Authority

JURISDICTIONAL POSITION

 Harvest Christian University does not concede that any state educational agency possesses jurisdiction over its:

  • Tribal governance;
  • Indigenous educational functions;
  • Religious instruction;
  • Ecclesiastical affairs;
  • Cultural education;
  • Honorary recognitions;
  • Tribal citizenship or membership determinations;
  • Nation-issued credentials;
  • Internal institutional governance;
  • Royal or Tribal Charter authority.

The University maintains that these matters are governed by the internal authority of the Sikana Nation and its own governing laws and institutions.

  • The tribal authority and governing institutions of the Sikana Nation.
  • The ecclesiastical authority of its religious mission and ministry.
  • The Nation’s Tribal Charter, Constitution, customs, laws, and governing institutions.
  • International principles recognizing Indigenous self-determination and self-government.
  • Applicable constitutional protections for the free exercise of religion.

This designation allows the university to receive tax-deductible contributions and affirms its commitment to public support and charitable purposes . 

Institutional Jurisdiction Notice

Harvest Christian University is a Missouri-based institution. All  educational instruction, academic administration, and degree-granting  operations originate outside the State of Texas and are delivered  online. The University does not maintain a Texas instructional campus or  conduct in-person academic instruction in Texas. From time to time, the  University may host ceremonies, conferences, graduations, ministry  events, or other non-instructional activities in Texas or other  jurisdictions. Such events do not alter the location from which the  University’s educational and academic operations are conducted.
